Â

Fans with U2 tickets for the Irish rock band’s previously scheduled June 3 show in Salt Lake City, Utah may have to wait a little bit longer to see Bono & Co., as they have postponed the gig. U2′s official website reported on May 21 that frontman Bono underwent emergency back surgery at a Munich hospital.

According to the site, Bono sustained an undisclosed injury “during tour preparation training” and will remain in the hospital for a few days before resting up at home in Ireland. U2′s June 3 show was supposed to kick off the next North American leg of the U2360 Tour and there is no word yet on whether more shows will be pushed back as well.

The show will go on at some point, and fans that have U2 tickets from StubHub.com can see the band in U.S. cities like Anaheim, Calif.; Denver, Colo.; Seattle, Wash.; Edmonton, AB; Chicago, Ill.; Philadelphia, Pa.; Montreal; QB; New York, N.Y. and more through July. Once Bono & Co. wrap up their batch of summer dates in North America, the band will cross the Atlantic to perform in cities scattered across Europe, such as Turin, Italy; Hanover, Germany; Horsens, Denmark; Helsinki, Finland; Moscow, Russia; Vienna, Austria; Athens, Greece; Istanbul, Turkey; Zurich, Switzerland; Paris, France; San Sebastian, Spain; Coimbra, Portugal and more.

U2 recruited an impressive lineup of openers for the continuation of their U2360 Tour. Lenny Kravitz will join the band for their initial tour dates, while the Fray, Interpol, Kasabian, Snow Patrol, Razorlight and One Republic will open for U2 on the rest of the band’s tour dates. Hitting the road with one of the biggest rock bands wasn’t on the calendar for Kravitz, who turned down other offers to tour this summer, but the “American Woman” singer told PEOPLE Magazine in April that he simply couldn’t turn down the gig. I mean, can you blame him?

As if prepping for a massive world tour isn’t enough, U2′s Bono and the Edge have also been hard at work on their highly-anticipated and long-delayed musical, Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark. Although the productionâ??projected to be the largest musical to ever take the Broadway stageâ??has endured multiple setbacks due to financial problems, the New York Times reports that it is expected to begin performances in the Big Apple this fall.

Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark director Julie Taymor (best known for the long-running Disney stage show The Lion King) is reportedly in the midst of auditioning actresses to play Mary Jane. Actress Evan Rachel Woodâ??Taymor and Bono’s first choice for the roleâ??withdrew from the production due to “scheduling conflicts,” as did Alan Cumming, who was slated to play the Green Goblin (the New York Post reports that Patrick Page has been offered to fill the role). Reeve Carney, lead singer of the rock band Carney, is still set to play the role of Peter Parker in the musical, and his band debuted a new song by U2 called “Boy Falls From the Sky” on May 18. The song was created as a major number in Act II of Bono and the Edge’s first Broadway musical.

If you’re even slightly familiar with the music world then you must have heard the name of the Irish rock sensation, U2. This band was first formed back in 1976, back when all the band mates were in secondary school and they have stayed together ever since. Now this band consisting of Bono (Paul Hewson), The Edge (Dave Evans), Dik Evans and Adam Clayton were first named as “Feedback” in their earlier years.

In 1977, the group changed their name to “The Hype”. Now Dik Evans has almost become the “odd man” in the band. So at a concert which was a farewell one, Dik walked off the stage and the four had finished the gig as we now know them, as U2. The first ever single this band released was just in Ireland and it was called “Three”, followed by “Another Day”.

Their first ever international “11 O’ Clock Tick Tock” and their debut album was titled “Boy”. The second one was called “October”, released in 1981 and had themes which were spiritual. The next album on their list was called “War” which was released in 1983. This included the hit song “Sunday Bloody Sunday”. Now this album also saw the bands first hit called “New Years Day”, which was the bands first hit international.

The next one released was called “The Unforgettable Fire”, which was out inn 1984. Now this album had a sound which was well orchestrated. Now the next album they released was called “The Joshua Tree” in 1987. Now this single has the hit song “With or Without You” and the album had becomes the fastest selling one in the British history. Now this helped the band even get 2 Grammys.
Now the next album they released was called “Achtung Baby”. Now this album was a bit darker than the rest of its albums. Now if you look at this album from a commercial point, it actually was one of the best and successful ones and it helps in reinvention of the band.

Now the next album was called “Zooropa” and was released in 1993 followed by another album called “Original Soundtracks 1” in 1995, “Pop” in 1997 and “All tgar you cant leave behind” in 2000 which was another masterpiece. Now the next album was called “How to dismantle an atomic bomb” which came out in 2004. Now the bands most recent achievement was called “No line on the horizon” which was released in 2009.
